1. The common properties of polygons are multi-sided straight lines, closed (no interception), 2D shapes. Some have more or less sides than others and different angle types. For example, a parallelogram, a hexagon, and a triangle all have no interceptions, straight sides and different angles.

2. The measure of degrees in an angle tells me that the angle is acute, right, obtuse or reflex. An acute angle is 1˚ to 89˚ and an obtuse and is 91˚-179˚. 90˚ is a right angle so an acute or obtuse can't be. and an obtuse and can't be 180˚ because that is reflex. Reflex can't be more than 359˚ because 360˚ is a full rotation.

3. Some of the common angles are acute, right and obtuse. They are common because more angles are acute, right or obtuse angles other than a reflex angle which isn't so common.

4. Some strategies to estimate angle measures are seeing if it is acute, right or obtuse, See if it is 45˚ or half of 90˚, you can also see if the angle is about 1/3 or 2/3 of 90˚, or 30˚ and 60˚. If the angle is obtuse do the measurement for acute but add 90˚ for the right angle.

5. To find accurate measurements with a protractor, I should first line up the middle variable to a different variable using the line given on the protractor. Then I should use the last variable to middle variable line to see what number the the line is lined up with on the protractor.
