Water Fleas

       Today in science we used microscopes to see water fleas. They are seen using a magnification of 180X original magnification. The water fleas are very active and all seemed to have one eye. Water fleas are also known as Daphia.

America-Only Celebratory of Pi Day?

March 14 or also known as Pi Day, is a very special day celebrated only in America. I would like to talk about why Pi Day is only celebrated in the U.S. because I believe that everyone should know.

First off, I would like to point out that in certain countries they write the dates as day first, then month so instead of 3/14 in some places, they write 14/3. Even though this is true, some people point out that some countries, besides the states, actually would write it month then day, so the date would be 3/14.

Even though this is true, Pi Day is still only celebrated in the U.S. because only the U.S. government declared Pi Day a national holiday. Therefore only America celebrates Pi Day.

Even though America is the only place with Pi Day as its national holiday, many people still celebrate it as the Americans do. Many people, especially math teachers and students, still celebrate Pi Day with cool math and a slice or two of pie!

Band: March Concert Reflection

1. What are you most proud of from your performance at the concert?
I am most proud of the way I played. I played with no squeaks, I played all of the correct notes at the correct dynamics, speed and rhythm.

2. What do you need to work on to improve for the next performance?
I think I need to work on fidgeting a little less because when we were playing I had to fix my glasses a bit, my music started to tip, etc.

3. What does our band, as a whole, need to work on to improve for the next concert?
I think we need to work on respect others because I heard whispers when 6Int and 7 were playing.

4. What did you learn from performing in the concert?
I learned that if you are nervous you won't play well, but if you are brave and strong you will play excellent.

5. What did you learn by watching others perform?
I learned that everyone isn't the best when you first start to learn. That is why you practice, to get better like the SB.

For my PSA, I decided to do a brochure. Even though you wanted it published on my blog, I also brought in two printed ones so you can see what it looks like as if it was a real PSA.
